Our Commitment to Sustainability
Aruna is paving the path towards a sustainable future through keeping a close eye on the commodity stock, members of the coastal communities, and the environment, regarding their direct impact on marine sustainability. That is why we make sure to connect with our fishermen beyond mere transactional capacities. Aruna works hand-in-hand with coastal communities by improving their villages—which in turn, will have them happily share their culture and social insights to grow together, and ultimately, make the sea a better livelihood for all.
Our Initiatives
We host various activities to create a healthy competitive environment

We’re working with local coastal community members to collect plastic waste for us to buy and recycle—thus promoting sustainability and our zero waste commitment.

We empower the youths of coastal communities to manage restored mangrove forests, so that they could continue their role as the frontline defense of coastline ecosystems.

Extracting crabs for our commodities can create a lot of waste. Aruna Zero Waste initiative aims to reduce, or even eliminate unused waste, along with converting most of our waste into fish feed.

We catch our commodities in accordance with PERMEN KP 17/2021 regarding size and condition of crabs that are allowed to catch, making sure not to disturb their life cycles.

We empower coastal women to directly contribute to the sustainability of the marine ecosystem through education and involvement in proper fishing and processing practices.
